Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo (TM)

The Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo™ (HLSR) is world’s largest livestock show and rodeo welcoming a record 2.6 million plus people to the grounds in 2017. The Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo™ promotes agriculture by hosting an annual, family-friendly experience that educates and entertains the public, supports Texas youth, showcases Western heritage and provides year-round educational support within the community.

Since its beginning in 1932, the Rodeo has committed more than $450 million to the youth of Texas. In 2017, HLSR used its earnings to contribute over $27 million to supporting Texas’ youth:

2017 Highlights

–   $7 million awarded to junior exhibitors

–   $14.3 million in new scholarships awarded to Texas youth

–   $6.1 million granted to other educational programs

Commercial Exhibits Committee

The volunteer members of the Commercial Exhibits Committee (CXC) work with over 400 businesses whom set up sales and presentation booths as commercial exhibitors for the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo™. CXC volunteers have the responsibility to monitor all contractual requirements, audit exhibitors working on a percentage basis, and assist vendors and Show management with a variety of exhibitor-related matters.
