Hancock Firm | Celebrating 20 Years: A Message from Rob Hancock

In 1998, the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) created a new certification called Accredited in Business Valuation (ABV). I was proud to be one of the first recipients in the country. Prior, I was accredited in 1995 by NACVA with the Certified Valuation Analyst (CVA) as a complement to being a CPA.

Nine years later, I left my role as a partner at one of the largest CPA firms in the country to build from scratch what is now Hancock Firm. I sought to instill in the firm my values of strong work ethic and people skills that I developed growing up in the small town of Conroe, Texas (it was a very small town back then, the Woodlands did not exist, and Lake Conroe was a pipe dream). My mission was to create a firm that treats clients not like a number, but as a neighbor. Although I started with nothing but a cellphone and a study at home for an office, my vision was to craft the highest quality business valuation, litigation services and M&A advisory firm for private businesses in Texas. And it happened with help from my new and “firm-grown” partners and exemplary analysts and supporting staff members.

In June, Hancock Firm celebrated 20 years in business. Hancock Firm has been awarded Houston’s Best Business Valuation Firm and Best End-To-End Litigation Consultant in an annual survey conducted by Texas Lawyer for 15 consecutive years. This year, the annual survey also recognized Hancock Firm as Best Texas-Based Forensic Accounting Provider, through a write-in because our name was not on the “ballot.” As our team of highly qualified professionals grows each year, Hancock Firm remains dedicated to being an industry leader by maintaining our commitment to quality and unbiased opinions and service to our clients.

Hancock Firm extends its heartfelt thanks to clients, friends and family for their unwavering support over the last twenty years and looks forward to providing top notch service in the years to come.
