Rob Hancock is a trusted advisor to business owners for equity and debt valuations and strategic management counseling, especially in the area of exit strategies and compensation and rewards for owners, executives, and directors. Rob is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA)*, an Accredited Business Valuator (CPA/ABV; AICPA), a Certified Valuation Analyst by the National Association of Certified Valuators and Analysts (CVA), and is certified in Financial Forensics (CFF; AICPA).
At the helm of Hancock Firm with his partner Shea Hancock, Rob has valued hundreds of private businesses (profit and not-for-profit organizations), for both transactional and federal tax purposes, with a combined equity value over $5 billion. He is also recognized by the courts as a financial expert on business value, shareholder transactions, business profitability, and other economic issues. Rob has also testified in federal court on corporate alter ego matters. Over a 30-year span, he’s delivered solid testimony in Federal Courts and State Courts in Texas, Alabama, Missouri, and New Jersey. He credits his ethics to being raised with integrity in small-town Texas and the professional ethics he was taught when he became a CPA,* an accredited business valuator, and through arbitration training.
Rob has served as a director of public and private corporations. Prior to founding Hancock Firm in 2004, Rob practiced public accounting as a partner/shareholder in national and local CPA firms, managing client engagements in every major public accounting discipline, including audit, tax, consulting, business valuation, and litigation.
Rob is married for 40 years to his wife Angie. Rob and Angie have two children and six grandchildren. They are both active in the Houston Racquet Club and Barton Creek Lakeside Country Club.
